Rising damp

In our website, we recently added a page to let you learn more about rising damp. We thought it was appropriate to copy/paste this text here, for those who regularly visit our blog (and we thank them!)
Rising damp are synonymous with ascent moisture generated by an electromagnetic field that carries water molecules into the capillaries of materials.
How to recognize the presence of rising damp:
When the paints flake, blister, saltpeter appear or soils are moist, these elements do characterize the presence of rising damp.
There is a real moisture problem which, in the long run, if left untreated, can have aggravating consequences!
In addition, wet walls can quickly give way to all kinds of fungi such as the jellyfish, saltpeter and parasites that are a real scourge.
From the simple degradation of the walls, these invaders can destroy structures and lead to overconsumption of heating and health problems.
It is therefore useless, in the presence of these signs, to carry out successive repair work, which is expensive and the problem of humidity is not solved at its origin!
However, the examination of rising damp requires a thorough study, beyond simply checking the apparent tasks on the structures.
This is why it is advisable, before any purchase or renovation of a property, to call on a moisture professional who will make a complete diagnosis.
