How it works

THE STEPS OF OUR ACTION

1

RECOMMENDED ACTION BEFORE DRYING OUT THE WALLS

E.g.:

  • Scraping off of the plaster
  • Removal of the coatings and any “patches”, wall-paper, vinyl coatings, etc…
  • Removal the affected insulating panels
2

INVESTIGATION OF THE CURRENT SITUATION

  • Analysis of the average moisture content of the materials and detection of nitrate and sulphate salts with suitable kits.
  • Analysis of the height reached by the moisture on the walls and measurement of the electric potential.
  • Ventilation of the premises if not already present or effective, since ventilation is a “key” aspect.
  • Indeed, good ventilation of the rooms will help to speed up the process of drying out of the walls, which takes place by means of evaporation.
  • Presence of ventilation.Vegetation in the vicinity, butters, drainage pipes, slopping ground, existence of holes and/or wells, infiltrations
3

SCRAPING OF THE WALLS

If a wall is covered with a waterproof plastic coating, the water contained inside is unable to come out (Figure 2).
Only removal of the coating will free the moisture trapped behind it, facilitating natural evaporation (Figure 3). If this is not done, the wall  will take longer to dry out.

Renovating a building by treating rising damp once and for all is an essential activity, to be carried out before any refurnishing, decoration and finishing work.

4

RECOMMENDED ACTION AFTER THE WALLS HAVE BEEN DRIED OUT

  • Neutralizing of the salts
  • Re-plastering with breathable materials such as lime.
  • Painting of the walls, without re-plastering, using mineral paints that are not micro-porous.
5

POSITIONING OF STOPRISE®

StopRise should be positioned, if possible, at the centre of the building, taking the radius of its action into account.

6

CHECKING OF DRYING OUT

Checks at regular intervals are envisaged.
Once the walls have dried out completely, the customer is given a statement enabling the restructuring works to be started.
Our distributors are at disposal to assist customers in defining and planning the works to be carried out.

7

Compulsory results – our distributors take on an obligation to achieve results.
